It’s been a while! Here’s a 3-minute review of our IMBC Quick Business Tips (QBT’s) #10, #11, and #12.  You can also catch up on QBT’s #: 1-3, 4-6, and 7-9. And we’re even ahead of ourselves. Check out QBT’s #13 and #14.

QBT #10: Listen (and really listen!)

The most effective way to encourage people, to be receptive to your ideas and products or services, is by listening to them and understanding their needs.

People can easily sense when someone is listening and interested in what they have to say. You don’t have to agree with everything they say but just genuinely listen.

QBT #11: Be Yourself

When dealing with your boss, employees, and/or customers don’t stifle your individuality to portray who you think others want you to be.

Always try to be flexible and accommodating but being authentic is the key to connecting with your peers and customers.

QBT #12: Lead by Example

You might feel important by attempting to be the “boss” who stands comfortably on the side and delegates work to employees.

However, the most effective form of leadership is role modeling. Set an example by engaging in your employees’ activities and helping them wherever you can. They’ll learn from your actions (the good and the bad!).
